Hometown

Buckhannon, WV

Why did you choose to earn a dental hygiene degree at WVU?

I chose WVU because it has the #1 Dental hygiene program but also because it's closer to home.

What do you wish you would have known before starting dental hygiene school?

I wish I would've known how sad I'd be to leave the place. Even though it is inevitable and there is no way to prepare for it, I wish I knew an easier way to prepare myself for the hard goodbyes. In the beginning, I didn't think I'd make as many friends and get to know as many people as I have, and I am so sad to have to leave everyone. You spend 4 years with the same people, just to potentially never see them again. Hopefully, we all stay in touch.

What is next for you?

After graduation, I will be returning to my hometown to work as a clinician and give back. I am excited to see familiar faces and start my career with people I've grown up knowing and loving.
