Next Move

I will be continuing my education at West Virginia University as a Pediatric Dentistry Resident. I am so excited to be part of the first class of Pediatric Dentistry residents at WVU and to provide care to the children and teens of West Virginia.

What made you want to earn your degree?

I have always been interested in healthcare and felt the need to help people. I thoroughly enjoy being able to interact with patients and get to know them, so dentistry felt like the perfect profession for me. I also have a family member, Dr. Patrick Martin, a Pediatric Dentist in Hurricane, West Virginia, who has been instrumental in mentoring me professionally and showing me that dentistry is an amazing profession. Dentistry is a very gratifying career, and I am excited to serve the patients of West Virginia.

Why did you choose to earn your D.D.S. at WVU?

While attending undergrad at WVU, I got to see firsthand how much amazing work gets completed here. I knew I wanted to stay home, and to me Morgantown has become home. I had also heard from many School of Dentistry alumni about how great of a school WVU is and that top notch clinicians are developed here, so this made me want to attend WVU even more. Growing up in West Virginia, I have always loved WVU and have been a Mountaineer fan, so being able to complete another degree here is a dream come true.

What will you miss most about WVU?

There are many things I will miss about my time here at the School of Dentistry, but I think the thing I will miss the most is the interaction with the amazing people. First, I will miss being able to talk and laugh with my classmates, who have turned into some of my best friends. The friendships I have made while being a student here will continue for a lifetime and I am so grateful to have met such amazing people. I will also miss being able to interact with the incredible faculty and staff here. They are tremendous and their mentorship has been a huge part of my educational experience. I can truly say that the memories I have made as a student here will last a lifetime and I am so thankful to have been a part of the WVU School of Dentistry.
