“I attended WVU's Dental Hygiene program because of the opportunity to work alongside dental students. I think that's very important for our future working together. We also experience multiple rotations at different specialties which allows us to become well-rounded hygienists!”

What made you want to earn your dental hygiene degree?

I went to a technical high school where I did dental assisting. I learned quickly that I loved the dental field and wanted to continue my education. I was given the opportunity to shadow at many dental offices for over 500 hours, and I wanted to have that close patient relationship that I have gained here at WVU. Over the past four years, my passion for working with patients and educating them about oral health has grown each and every day!

Why did you choose to do it at WVU?

I decided to attend WVU's Dental Hygiene program because we are given the opportunity to work alongside dental students. I think that is very important for our future working together. We are also given a chance to experience multiple different rotations at different specialties which allow us to see all sides of dentistry and become well-rounded hygienists!

What are you excited for next?

I’m most excited to start working as a Dental Hygienist. WVU Dental Hygiene has well-prepared us all for our future endeavors. I am very excited for my future but most definitely sad to leave this school and the lifelong friendships I have made over the past 4 years!
