McMechen-Hock Family Scholarship for Dental Hygiene
Deborah McMechen-Hock is a 1968 graduate whose love for the profession and dedication to the department were evident while she was a student and have continued throughout her life. This scholarship was established in memory of her parents, Ruth Gardner Salmons McMechen and Dr. Charles Reid McMechen.
Qualifications
This endowment shall provide scholarships for students who are enrolled at West Virginia University in the School of Dentistry, Division of Dental Hygiene. First consideration shall be given to second-year students who are residents of West Virginia and have demonstrated a financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0. A student who is a recipient one year is eligible for consideration in any other year. Recipients shall be determined by the Director of the Division of Dental Hygiene in the School of Dentistry in consultation with the WVU Office of Student Financial Aid. Scholarships shall be awarded in the name of the McMechen-Hock Family Scholarship for Dental Hygiene.
