Mary F. Sanders Memorial Dental Hygiene Scholarship

Established by her family in 1978, the Mary F. Sanders Memorial Dental Hygiene Scholarship is given in memory of Class of 1977 graduate Mary Frances Sanders. Mary was beloved for her care, compassion, faith and dedication to family, friends and the dental hygiene profession. This is the only scholarship in which the recipient is selected by their classmates.

Qualifications

This endowment shall provide an annual scholarship to a senior dental hygiene student who has earned an overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5, demonstrates great enthusiasm for dental hygiene, actively participates in dental hygiene related activities, is respected by classmates, and is elected by classmates during their junior year. The recipient of this scholarship will be an individual who closely possesses the personal qualities of warmth, caring, appreciation for life, and appreciation for everyone they encounter. Recipients shall be determined by the appropriate officials in the School of Dentistry Department of Dental Hygiene in consultation with the WVU Office of Financial Aid. Funds shall be awarded in the name of the Mary F. Sanders Memorial Dental Hygiene Scholarship.
