John W. Hatcher Memorial Scholarship for Dentistry

This scholarship was started by Dr. Steve Hatcher to honor his father, John W. Hatcher. John worked tirelessly throughout his career to support his three children and enable them to graduate from college with no debt.

Qualifications

This endowment shall provide scholarships for students who are enrolled at West Virginia University in the School of Dentistry. First consideration shall be given to students who are from one of the following counties in West Virginia: Fayette, Raleigh, Boone, Logan, Wyoming, McDowell, and Mingo. If no student meets these criteria, preference will be given to a student who is a resident of West Virginia. Recipients must demonstrate a financial need. A student who is a recipient one year is eligible for consideration in any other year. Recipients shall be determined by the appropriate officials in the School of Dentistry in consultation with the WVU Office of Student Financial Aid. Scholarships shall be awarded in the name of the John W. Hatcher Memorial Scholarship for Dentistry.
