Well, well, well, Rosemary and I just got back from the Greenbrier, and as always, the 120th Annual Session of the West Virginia Dental Association was a GREAT success. There were approximately 200 alums and their families in attendance, and I believe everyone had a great time. (I know I sure did.)
Among the many dignitaries in attendance was Dr. George Shepley, past-president of the American Dental Association and a 1977 graduate of the number 1 dental school in the world. (I’ll bet you’ve heard that before.)
One of the many things I learned during the festivities was that next year will mark a combined meeting of the Virginia and West Virginia Dental Associations. It will be held on July 15-17, 2027, at The Greenbrier, and this is the first time in almost 100 years that we will have a combined meeting of the two Virginias. In case you didn’t know or were not at that meeting, the first was held in 1932 at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester, Va. The two presidents next year will be Dr. Michael Richardson from the WV Dental Association and Dr. Marcel Lambrechts from the Virginia Dental Association. Both are 1991 graduates of, again, the NUMBER ONE Dental School in the World.

By the time most of you will be reading the July newsletter, the new dental class of 2030 will be arriving. I will also hopefully be introducing you to new faculty members at the school in the August Issue.
I could not possibly conclude any addition of this newsletter without talking about membership. I will now have been a member for over 55 years, but if you are not and would like to become a member (PLEASE, PLEASE), you can contact our Executive Director, Cathy Boyce, at 304-293-4915 or caboyce@hsc.wvu.edu.
Look forward to seeing everyone at future school and alumni events, and as always,
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND LET’S GO MOUNTAINEERS
