Gatherings and meetings in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital limited

Given the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, gatherings in common areas on the campus of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital will be limited to no more than 12 people, effective Jan. 6.

All large group meetings and gatherings should be canceled or conducted virtually whenever possible. WVU Medicine employees should work with supervisors and use good judgment about which meetings are essential and how many people must be physically present. If a meeting is critical, please consider convening it via Webex, Teams or other virtual options.

If an in-person meeting must be convened, please use the following precautions:

  • Urge participants to stay home if they are sick.
  • Practice social distancing during the meeting; allow space between colleagues (one empty chair between participants in the meeting).
  • Practice good personal hygiene; wash hands frequently and thoroughly and avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Continue to follow all masking protocols.
