Unique approach to giving - started by New River Dental Society

Other donors may want to adopt the approach

West Virginia University School of Dentistry continues to keep renovations a top priority for the future of the dental school. As some supporters consider areas of philanthropy, they may find this uniqe approach to giving by the New River Dental Society is a plan they might like to adopt. The summary below provides an invitation, history and resources for those who hope to pledge to the dental school's Campaign for Facilities.

Watch a tour of some of our updates.

Supporters can join fellow dental providers by donating the value of one procedure — such as a restoration, root canal, ortho consult or crown — per month for 12 months (or more) to support our Campaign for Facilities.

This challenge was initiated one year ago by the New River Dental Society. Their efforts resulted in over $90,000. Kanawha Valley Dental Society is up to $250,000. Other societies are just getting started, and a great day to commit is on Day of Giving, March 20.

Give between 5 and 6 p.m. that day and help the School of Dentistry be in the running for bonus dollars for the Facilities Fund (2W686).

If one-third of our alumni (approximately 1,500 providers) commit for just one year, we could collectively raise over $4 million toward our renovations. If you can commit for an additional year, we could raise $9 million or more through a single recurring gift commitment. Together, we can get this done.

Feel free to call Director of Development Karen Coombs at 304-216-3784 or send an email to kcoombs@wvuf.org to learn more about the Campaign for Facilities, Day of Giving, and how you can provide support.
