WVU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will host its Summer Genetics Internship Program from June 22 to July 31. The six-week paid program is designed to provide individuals wishing to pursue a career in human genetics with hands-on experience in clinical genetics.
Prior human genetics experience is not required; however, applicants should have successfully completed the undergraduate genetic coursework class prior to the internship start date. Anyone interested in pursuing a career in genetic counseling is welcome to apply.
Requirements include two letters of recommendation, official transcripts, a personal statement and a 3.5 GPA, but 3.0 and above will be considered.
Please note this is a competitive internship; therefore, preference will be given to upper-level undergraduate students and recent college graduates. To obtain an application, email obgynsummergeneticsprogram@hsc.wvu.edu. Applications must be submitted by May 29, 2026.
