WVU dental students will present at oral medicine conference

Second year in a row WVU students selected to participate

For the second year in a row, two WVU School of Dentistry students will attend and present at a national oral medicine meeting.

The American Academy of Oral Medicine hosts its annual session in Savannah, Georgia from May 3 through May 6.

The 2023 AAOM event is Oral Medicine: Pathways to Precision Practice.

Two third-year dental students along with WVU School of Medicine and WVU School of Dentistry faculty developed two abstracts to share with oral medicine experts.

“I am so proud of our students for being chosen to present at a national level for an international event. It is an excellent opportunity for them to enrich their educational process, to share clinical cases and to represent our school in a scientific meeting. To have students go two years in a row speaks to student and dental school's dedication to strong clinical and scholarly experiences,” Juan Bugeno, Assistant Proferssor of Oral Medicine, said.
