Supporters help dentistry go above and beyond

Opportunities for investment identified for Day of Giving

By the time the WVU Foundations Day of Giving kicks off on March 20, we want to be sure you know how your help matters.

Driven by the desire to make a difference, alumni and friends recognize contributions to programs, scholarships, and facilities help the next generation of dentists and hygienists Go Above and Go Beyond. The individual reasons for giving are as unique as the donors themselves.

It could be an endowment that celebrates the legacy of a resilient Mountaineer who has gone before us. A former recipient might pay it forward by investing in one of the school’s 40-plus scholarship funds. Or, a supporter focuses on their area of interest (like oral surgery, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and others) to share a gift in their expertise or passion.

Know that each gift, each fund, each dollar helps a Mountaineer courageously navigating not only our Country Roads but also the twists and turns of oral healthcare education.

When considering how best to support “The Greatest Dental School in the World,” the following areas have been identified as priorities on this 2024 Day of Giving.

General Scholarship 2S123 Most dental students rely on loans and financial aid to become the professionals in our communities who transform lives, figuratively and literally. They are doing so with an investment of more than $250,000, an amount that continues to climb nationwide.
Facilities Fund 2W686
It is our great pleasure to be able to welcome friends and alumni back home. The reception area, urgent care, and student hallway have undergone renovations wowing visitors and previous graduates with unrecognizable, modern space. As support grows and the next phases become a reality, we look forward to hosting visitors to see the transformation for themselves.
Dental Century Fund 2U045
There is no worse feeling than to be insufficiently prepared for the unexpected. In higher education and patient care we expect the unexpected and are grateful to have resources to address needs as they arise.
