Service is one of the core values of West Virginia University.
WVU School of Dentistry students frequently receive attention, appreciation and accolades from the public for the way the serve patients in the clinic and neighbors in our community.
James Goots Shout-out

According to a social media post from the practice, “Dr. Goots personally crafted and delivered these Holiday Fruit Baskets to the Buckhannon Senior Center, as one way to acknowledge and thank the City of Buckhannon for his time in our area. We are so proud of his impact on the Senior Center members, just look at those smiles!!!”
Goots is a Bridgeport, WV native who will graduate with his DDS in May 2023.
Brenden Honaker Shout-out
A WVU Health Sciences Center employee described Brenden Honaker as “exemplifying the essence of who a healthcare worker should be.” On December 7, Brenden was spotted assisting a medical school professional in the building as she struggled with an injured ankle. An email to the school read, “Without knowing her, he stopped to help her walk up the ramp outside. He also went to get a wheelchair when we realized that she needed it. He then wheeled her to our offices.”
Brenden is from Fairdale, WV.
