Requirements and Standards
Students interested in the dual degree program will have already completed the rigorous admissions process for the DDS program. In order to be eligible for the DDS/MBA program, students must be in good academic standing and have a letter of reference from the School of Dentistry Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Students must officially apply to the Online Hybrid MBA program using the online graduate application. Students will be expected to submit:
- Official Transcripts
- Current Resume
- Statement of Purpose
- One Letter of Reference
- GMAG/GRE (A score on the Dental Admissions Test sufficient to gain admission to the DDS program will fulfill this requirement.)
The program requires that the candidate achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on all work counting toward the MBA degree. A student whose MBA major cumulative grade point average falls below 2.75 will be placed on probation. If the average is not brought up to 2.75 by the end of the following semester, the student will be suspended from the MBA portion of the dual degree program. A grade below C in more than one MBA course taken while enrolled as a graduate student will result in the suspension from the MBA portion of the dual degree program.
The DDS normally requires 196 credit hours, and the MBA normally requires 37 credit hours. The dual degree program reduces the total credits required to complete both programs from 233 to 224. Nine credits from the DDS program will be counted toward the MBA.
