Students learn about direct gold restorations

A student gold club is being formed.

On April 6 and 7, an elective course on direct gold restorations was offered for interested students at the WVU School of Dentistry.

The course was taught by Dr. Craig Bridgeman and Dr. David Bridgeman. They both presented lectures to students and hosted clinic participation activities in the school’s simulation lab.

Students participating in the direct gold elective were Mason Bishop, Jordan Dillon, Keith Hickman, Miranda Kalaskey, Angela Pelehac, Michael Petrides, Oliva Mason, Tyler Myers, Adam Secret and Devon Zeeger.

In June, a second elective course will be offered on indirect gold restorations.

A student gold study club is in the process of being formed which will provide students with the opportunity to provide both direct and indirect gold restorations to their patients.

Dental students who are in their second, third or fourth years of study will be eligible to participate in the study club.
