Maynor named director of student affairs and academic initiatives

Will serve all Health Sciences schools

Lena Maynor, PharmD, has been appointed director of student affairs and academic initiatives for the Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University. Dr. Maynor, a clinical associate professor in the WVU School of Pharmacy, was named to the post by Clay Marsh, MD., WVU’s vice president and executive dean for health sciences.

The half-time appointment will begin in July, 2018, and Maynor will remain an active faculty member in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. In her new position, she will work with Louise Veselicky, DDS, associate vice president for academic affairs, in helping five health sciences schools at WVU promote academic excellence; contribute to the development and implementation of academic policies; and other efforts related to recruitment, admissions, financial aid and quality of life for students.

Maynor is a graduate of the WVU School of Pharmacy, and completed pharmacy residency training programs at the Charleston Area Medical Center and the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. She recently completed a term as chair of the WVU Faculty Senate.
