Dental Hygiene Programs
Welcome! The Division of Dental Hygiene offers many exciting and unique learning opportunities. The integrated liberal arts and professional curriculum combines many disciplines that provide the student a diverse and strong educational foundation.
We are proud to offer the following programs: baccalaureate, degree completion, and masters. Located in Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center, the Division of Dental Hygiene is an integral part of the School of Dentistry. This association allows future dentists and dental hygienists to gain valuable experience working together in both didactic and clinical settings. Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene
Dental Hygiene, a division of the School of Dentistry, offers a four-year curriculum leading to a B.S. in dental hygiene. The program is in part, based in the liberal arts, but it is also a thoroughly professional education. The format of the curriculum is not conventional, in that it includes courses from many academic disciplines. The program prepares students through classroom and practical experiences.
Master of Science Dental Hygiene
The Division of Dental Hygiene offer a program of advanced study leading to the degree of master of science. This program requires a minimum of thirty-seven semester hours through full-time or part-time enrollment in the School of Dentistry. It is designed to qualify dental hygienists for careers in teaching, administration, research, and management.
