WVU Dental Hygiene Students Win ADHA Poster Contest
The WVU SADHA group(Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association, West Virginia University Chapter) submitted an entry to the American Dental Hygienists’ Association for an interactive poster contest in celebration of National Dental Hygiene Month – and won! The contest asked dental hygienists (not students) across the country to take pictures of themselves with the Brush, Floss, Rinse, Chew National Dental Hygiene Month poster, displayed in the most unique non-operatory setting and post them to Instagram. People across the country were asked to vote for the best picture and seniors Brittany Brummage, Kayla Howard, Doni Maihack, and Carly Scala who were photographed on the PRT represented WVU well and will receive $200 for SADHA.
Also, this is the second contest this year that SADHA has participated and won. In June, during the ADHA Annual Session celebrating 100th years of Dental Hygiene, students entered a contest for the best decorated hat representing the dental hygiene profession. The WVU entry was decorated with floss, toothbrushes, gauze, prophy paste, and other dental related items. Senior Maria Gianni proudly displayed their hat while carrying her bouquet of toothbrushes with floss ribbons. They received $150 for that contest.
